Don't these words just get your heart pumping?! I feel invigorated just writing them. And, that's how alive your summer can be when enjoying the great outdoors with your family. So, here's some more fresh ideas to keep you going...

HSMoms Family-Friendly Outdoor Activities -- Part 2

1) Build a tree fort (I love when my kids can get out in nature and do some exploring! It's amazing what they come up with as they adventure.)

2) Roast some smores (Ahhhh, warm CHO-CO-LATE!!!)

3) Go canoeing/boating (This is one of my favorite summer things to do. Each year we head out to Lake Brittle and try our hand at fishing while boating. Our noisy boat never seems to catch anything...go figure. Still, we manage to jump in for a cool swim which really makes the day rewarding.)

4) Watch fireflies at night (My littles find great wonder as they chase around these glowy nighttime creatures.)

5) Plant a tree, flower...anything really (We love to garden. Each summer we head over to our local nursery. I let my littles choose something they can plant. We do a lot of container gardening as we are currently renting. They take ownership of their selections and we get to see their flowers growing as we go to and from our home.)

6) Go leaf collecting (Why wait for fall when you can find so many fabulous summer varieties?!)

7) Balance on a log in the forest (There's nothing better than a little natural gymnastics!)

8) Count the stars at night (A favorite activity for me. I loved looking at the stars at night with my mom when I was a little girl. Now, I can enjoy this activity with my littles.)

9) Take a walk at dusk or dawn (I love to tell my littles that God paints the sky with His beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Now that they're older, they remind me and I'm awash with the memories we build in their younger years.)

10) Construct a rock house (After all, who doesn't love collecting rocks and building something great out of them?!)
