The 5 Best Christmas Resources Of All Time

Each year, we sit down with "The Advent Book" and each night my children get to open an artistically drawn doorway and read a page of the Christmas story. When we have company, we pass the book around. Everyone loves the beautifully drawn artwork and they hear the message of the Savior’s love for them.

The Advent Book

I'm pretty particular when it comes to addressing Santa in our home. I want my children to hear me speak the truth, and this book gives me the opportunity to do just that. While fictitious, "Saint Nicholas: The Real Story of the Christmas Legend" helps children understand: the essence of generosity, some of our current traditions, and the wondrous gift of God that is found in Christ. It's a book I read to my children over and over and it's a story that I plan on reading to them every year. For us, it's a classic!

Saint Nicholas: The Real Story of the Christmas Legend

I thought I'd introduce you to one of my family's favorite resources, "The Gift of Advent" by The Go Fish Guys. It's an exceptional early childhood curriculum kit that we break out year after year to teach the Christmas story in a way that's engaging to both parent and child. These guys really know how to ROCK Christmas!

The Gift of Advent

Christmas comes alive with a green bear named, "Boz". He's energetic, kind and best of all...entertaining. My kids L-O-V-E all the Boz DVDs and as a mom, I appreciate the clean content and uplifting messages that espouse good character, godly values, and family integrity.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is opening all our Christmas boxes from our garage and revisiting all the special memories that each box contains. One of these boxes hold our family's nativity. This keepsake always generates a lot of enthusiasm around my house and helps in preparing our hearts for celebrating the birth of Jesus. Each figure reminds us of the important aspects surrounding Christ's birth with shepherds, angels, wise men, Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus to name a few. One of the aspects I like most is that we reuse it annually.
